Business:

  • Pres. McGregor spoke about a letter he received from REP. Brian Ellis concerning the small games of chance lic.

  • Jon Kay W.C.O. and Eric McKinnis from the Fish Comm. spoke about 2009 fishing at Moraine State Park and Lake Oneida. He also spoke about the changes for 2010 concerning trout stocking in and around the city of Butler will change due to the situation at Fr. Marinaro Park. Jon spoke about the possibility of the club hosting a free boater safety course,it will be a total of 8 hrs. We will look into possible dates and times for this and post a sign up sheet downstairs in the club.If anyone knows of interested candidates to become  a W.C.O. Trainie , with the Fish and Boat Comm.,the should go online to www.fih.state.pa.us  then click on career fact sheet.

  • New member ballot votes were counted and all members were accepted by a majority vote 22 yes, 0 no

  • Nominations were opened for officers: Jeff Mennor nominated Rob Kildoo for Pres.   Rob accepted.Ben Morrow nominated Ken Geibel for V.P. Ken accepted, Bruce McGregor nominated Greg Putney for Secretary, he accepted, the treasurers poss. is still open. Board of directors nominations are Bruce McGregor, Earl Osche, and Carl Cypher. Motion to close nominations by Jim Fennel, 2nd by Earl Osche. Motion passed.

  • A motion was made by Tom Young to use last years procedure for getting corn to the club and membership. $1.00 @ bushel limit 5 bushels. 2nd by Earl Osche. Motion Passed.

COMMITTEES:

Activities Ken Geibel Chairman. reports that he will need some help with the buck season breakfast on the 1st and 2nd saturday of buck season. They will start at 4:00 am both days.

MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES H.H.S.C. JULY 20 2009

The meeting was called to order by President McGregor, followed by a salute to the Unites States Flag & a moment of silence for all deceased members.

BUSINESS

  • Pres. McGregor welcomed new members, Regis Collins and Brad Zang.
  • The deed is final with corrections to property & the tax office corrected it too.
  • Denny O’Donnell sent a thank you card to the club for the use of the facility for the O’ Donnell Open Golf outing.
  • The family picnic was July 19Th all went well.
  •  Hunter safety course had 42 students.
  • Jim Fennell reported some questions concerning the displaying of the new hunting lic.  YOU STILL HAVE TO HAVE IT DISPLAYED ON YOUR BACK.
  •  A suggestion was made  to have a work list of the things that need done around the club posted so if a person can’t make it on Wednesday’s they might have an idea what needs to be done around the club, Pres. McGregor is working on getting this completed and posted in the club basement.
  • A discussion about dues increases was held, after lengthy discussion, a motion was made by Paul Collins, 2nd by Frank Rodgers, to increase dues in the year 2010 to $20.00 and increase the late fee to $15.00 from Jan 1,2010 to Jan. 31st 2010. MOTION PASSED.
  •  A motion was made by Jim Fennell,2nd by Duke Snyder, to increase hall rentals to $150.00 plus a $50.00 cleaning fee,refundable if the hall is cleaned up properly.HALL RENTAL DATE WILL BE PAID IN FULL 30 DAYS AFTER SETTING THE RENTAL DATE. IF AT THAT TIME IT IS NOT PAID IN FULL, IT THEN CAN BY RESERVED BY ANOTHER MEMBER. ON OPEN WEEKENDS THE CLUB WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE FOR SATURDAY RENTAL. THE  CLUB WILL REMAIN OPEN ON SUNDAY’S. MOTION PASSED

  • Hunting lic. go on sale on June 30, get them early to go over changes and apply for early doe tag.
  • Hunter Trapper Education will be held on July 9,10,& 11 at our club, you must apply on line through the pa game commission web site.www.pgc.state.pa.us   then click on education to find the dates and places in Butler to register.

  • New Business, Jim Fennell spoke about only half of the tickets that were sent in the spring newsletter are coming back. so a discussion followed about raising hall rentals and or regular dues to offset the monthly cost of the club.
  • The new deed for the club property is final
  • Pres. McGregorspoke about getting prisoners to help out around the club on work nights.
  • Club recognized the passing of Willard Holmes and LaVerne Protzman

  • President McGregor welcomed new members Alan Deal, Kevin Young, Nikki Bruner, & Darrell Patterson
  • Jim Fennell stated that the Fish and Boat Commission have concerns about the Zebra Mussel in Lake Erie,but the water is cleaner now than it has been in years,so maybe the mussells are doing some good.A disussion was held about the Game commission to add a $1.00 fee to license for the youth mentor program.
  • Lou Bauldoff spoke about placing an add for the Chicora Parade. A motion was mad to do so by Jim F. 2nd By Gene W. Motion passed.
  • Pres, McGregor spoke about adding a pole building at the trap range just like at the rifle range. Discussion about the subject will be tabled for next month or later.
  • Ballots  for new members were collected and counted, a motion to destroy the ballots by Ben Morrow, 2nd By Harley Swigart. Motion passed.
  • Nikki Bruner spoke on behalf o the Butler Rifle Team, and thanked the club for the donation.

All new members were accepted with 33 yes and zero no.

  • President McGregor welcomed new member Jim Turner.
  • Jim Fennell reported on dates for the hunter safety course at the club and also other places in Butler County, the detail will be posted in the basement of the club or if you have any questions call an officer and we will try to help you. Jim spoke about new amendments to the hunting laws, concerning antler restrictions, and season length  in the south western part of the state. The club members present voted YES, to both of these proposals.
  • Discussion about changing the locks and keys to the club
  • Discussion about donation of $100.00 to the Butler High Rifle Team. Motion made by Jim Fennell, 2nd byTerry Morrow, motion carried.
  • V.P. Geibel noted that the buckwheat breakfast was a great sucess and raised a generous amount for Zeke.
  • NEW MEMBER VOTES: ALL MEMBERS ACCEPTED WITH   21 YES VOTES, ZERO NO VOTES.
  • There is a sign up sheet to get people interested in shooting trap at the club.It  will start the  last Tuesday in April. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS CALL GREG PUTNEY AT 724-282-5689.
